Description

Bull's Blood Beet microgreens feature deep burgundy stems, vibrant green leaves, and a mild, earthy sweetness. Unlike Red Beet, Bull's Blood is distinguished by the red hue on the underside of its leaves, adding even more visual appeal. Their rich color and tender texture make them an excellent choice for salads, sandwiches, garnishes, gourmet dishes, and more.

Bull’s Blood Beet microgreens develop beautiful green leaves with red tones. For deeper red coloring, use a stronger grow light with pink hues.

NON-GMO

When ordering 25 lbs, your seed will ship in two 12.5 lb bags for easier handling.

Growing Guide

What you'll need:

  • 1 deep tray with no holes
  • 1 deep tray with holes
  • Beet seed
  • Grow medium
  • Something to mist the soil with
  • 1 deep tray with no holes for stacking
  • 15lb weight (preferably a large, flat concrete paver)
  • Soil to cover the seeds with
  • Something to soak the seeds in (bucket, jar, etc) (optional)
  • Saran wrap (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Soak 45g of seeds (dry weight) for 1-4 hours, prior to planting (we soak for 1 hour). Soaking is optional.
  2. Make sure your grow room is around 72-74 degrees (22-24 Celsius). We keep ours at 72 degrees (22-23 Celsius)
  3. Put your tray with holes inside of a tray without holes
  4. Fill your tray (with holes) with soil (we fill them about 3/4 full), and heavily mist your soil. Keep in mind that they will be stacked for 7-9 days with no water.
  5. Strain the seeds, and spread them evenly across the entire tray
  6. Bury the seeds with DRY soil (do not mist the soil that you bury the seeds with).
  7. OPTIONAL - As an added step, you can place a layer of saran wrap on top of the dry soil/vermiculite before stacking. This can help with seed hull removal.
  8. Place a deep tray on top, place a 15lb weight inside of that tray, and place the entire tray set onto a shelf to germinate
  9. NOTE: If you're planting more than one tray of beets, you can stack them. We've stacked them up to 3-4 high, without issues, with a 15lb weight on the very top of the entire stack.

Leave them stacked in germination for 7-9 days. You do not need to touch them at all during this entire time.

On day 7-9, remove the weight, unstack them, top water them, and put them into the light. You can start bottom watering them, that day, once per day. To avoid damping off, water them using around 1/2 - 3/4 of the water you typically give to your other crops. Harvest on day 10-21.
